Concerns over environmental pollution and chemical detection
Due to the use of chemicals in modern agriculture, there are scientific concerns regarding the purity of honey and the ecosystems that produce it. Researchers are using techniques such as Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry to detect and analyze herbicides and toxic substances, including glyphosate, glufosinate, and aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA), that may remain in honey . Furthermore, ongoing research is being conducted on the effects of glyphosate at doses used in actual agricultural fields on the feeding behavior of honeybees , requiring caution regarding the honey production process and environmental toxicity.
