My breathing became much more even than yesterday. Each inhalation and exhalation, like gentle waves, flowed through my body, offering a sense of ease, as if I had finally found my place. As my breathing stabilized, the small ripples in my mind calmed. In that stillness, the light descending from above became clearer, its size and scope vastly expanded. The light enveloped me, expanding, giving me the sense that I was not simply alone, but connected to a larger world.
At that moment, the people I'd formed a connection with came to mind, one by one. As their faces flashed through my mind, I naturally imagined them, too, filled with light. At first, it felt a bit awkward. A subtle distance lingered in my heart, a vague discomfort that was difficult to explain, still stirring slightly. But the longer I watched the light seep into them, the more the awkwardness gradually eased and disappeared. As if breaking down an invisible barrier, the light bridged the gap between me and them, gently releasing the hardness that had lingered in my heart.
The light penetrated deeply into me. It traveled down my spine, quietly lingering in each bone, as if planting tiny sparks within it. These sparks burned warmly, filling my body, seemingly reassembling my entire being beyond bones and muscles, nerves and blood vessels. As each vertebra was bathed in light, my body became stronger and softer. I felt as if my body had become a temple, within which my subject, essence, and spirituality naturally merged.
I stayed in that flow. Without forcing myself to hold on or dragging myself down, I simply surrendered to the simultaneous movement of light within and without me. Warm compassion and mercy blossomed within me, and a subsequent peace enveloped me. The moment I realized that everything was interconnected, a gentle bliss welled up deep within me. That bliss wasn't just my own joy; it was a light I wanted to share.
In meditation, I realized that the entire process of breathing, receiving light, thinking of someone, and sending light to them ultimately heals both myself and the world. The light that permeated my body restored balance to my life and smoothed my relationships with others. My breathing became more even than yesterday, not simply a physical change, but a greater sense of harmony between my mind and soul.
Today's meditation was telling me this.
Light is always present, and it spreads wider when I choose to embrace it. And that light extends beyond me, to those I love and sometimes treat clumsily, and embraces them. Ultimately, the calm and warmth I felt was a light for all of us.
Meditation: Healing Body and Mind with Light - Inner Peace Restored Through Breath
My breathing flowed much more evenly than yesterday. The inhalations and exhalations moved in and out of my body like gentle waves, offering a comfort as if I had finally found my rightful place after a long absence. As my breathing stabilized, the small ripples in my mind also settled into stillness. In that quietude, the light descending from above became clearer, its size and scope much broader than before. The light expanded as it enveloped my body, giving me the sense that it wasn't merely mine alone, but connected to something greater in the world.
In that moment, people who had formed connections with me came to mind one by one. When their faces flickered through my consciousness, I naturally began to imagine light spreading abundantly to them as well. At first, it felt somewhat awkward. The subtle sense of distance that remained in one corner of my heart, an inexplicable discomfort, still stirred faintly. However, the longer I gazed upon the light permeating them, the more that awkwardness gradually softened and disappeared. The light seemed to tear down invisible barriers, bridging the gaps between us and gently dissolving the hardness that remained in my heart.
The light also penetrated deeply within me. As it descended along my spine, it quietly settled into each vertebra like planting small embers. Those embers burned warmly, filling my body, and seemed to weave together my entire being beyond bones and muscles, nerves and blood vessels. Each time a segment of my spine was soaked with light, my body became both more solid and more supple. My body became like a temple, where subject and essence, and spirituality naturally converged within.
I remained in that flow. Without forcing or pulling it down, I simply surrendered to the movement of light happening simultaneously inside and outside me. Within that space, warm compassion and mercy blossomed together, followed by an encompassing tranquility. The moment I could physically feel that everything was connected as one, a gentle bliss rose from the depths of my heart. That bliss wasn't my joy alone, but light I wanted to share with others.
In meditation, I realized that this entire process—my breathing, receiving light, thinking of someone, and sending light to them—was ultimately a path to heal both myself and the world simultaneously. The light that permeated my body restored balance to my life and made my relationships with others flow more gently. The fact that my breathing flowed more evenly than yesterday wasn't simply a physical change, but likely because my mind and soul had achieved slightly greater harmony.
Today's meditation was telling me this:
Light always exists, and when I choose to accept it, it spreads more widely. And that light flows beyond me to embrace those I have loved and sometimes treated awkwardly. Ultimately, the stillness and warmth I felt was light meant for all of us.
