Piriformis Syndrome
One of the main causes of sciatica is a condition in which the piriformis muscle becomes tight or shortened, compressing the sciatic nerve.

It causes leg numbness and tightness, sensory abnormalities, and buttock pain, and can be mistaken for a herniated disc.

Cause:
1.
In cases where the pelvis is misaligned
2.
Buttock trauma
3.
When sitting for long periods of time or driving for a long time
4.
Incorrect gait (outward-pointing gait)
5.
Weakness of the gluteal muscles
6.
Excessive leg split stretching
