Insufficient breastfeeding (effects of formula feeding)
A mother feeding her child formula instead of breast milk is a factor that can directly affect her own risk of developing breast cancer. Normal breastfeeding provides a powerful preventive effect that protects the mother's body from breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and type 2 diabetes . However, if formula feeding is chosen, these disease-protective effects (preventive benefits) unique to breastfeeding are not obtained, which consequently results in a relatively higher risk of the mother developing breast cancer.
